HUNTED – Death in the Campus
Number of participants per team – 2
Entry fee – Rs. 200 /- irrespective of college
Someone has died in the JNNCE campus. The Police are not budging from their conclusion that this is a mysterious suicide case. At least they got the ‘mysterious’ part right. The men in khaki have vacated the crime scene for now. It is up to you to look for proper evidence and ascertain if this so-called ‘suicide’ is in fact culpable homicide.
ROUND 1: DEAD HEAT ( Elimination Round )
This round is conducted in 2 stages (description below) to test the speed and comprehension skills of the participants.
• Stage I – Scavenger Hunt Participating teams will be given a list of items randomly scattered around the campus. The teams will have to search for these items without leaving the campus at any point of time. The teams which manage to find all the items taking the least amount of time will qualify to the next stage.
• Stage II – Rapid Comprehension Test Each team will be given a paragraph / passage based on which questions will be asked. They will have to answer the questions within a very small period of time (which will be declared on the spot). The teams with the most number of correct answers will qualify to the next round.
Initially in this round, one member from each team will be shown a video clip pertaining to the death of the student, after which the other team member will be sent to the actual crime scene where he/she will have to investigate (collect clues) using the information relayed to him/her by the first team member. This is the stage where teams are expected to come to a conclusion if the death is suicide or homicide making use of the clues collected.
ROUND 3: THE TRIBUNAL ( Surprise Round )
Details regarding this round will be given to the finalists 30 minutes before the round commences.
General Rules: 1. Participants are not allowed to leave the campus (during ROUND 1). 2. Teams will be allowed inside the crime scene only with the co-ordinators’ consent (for ROUND 2). 3. Participants are not allowed to take the clues out of the crime scene. You may note down what you believe are clues in a notepad (which will be provided on the spot, for ROUND 2).

How to reach Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shimoga

Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering,Navule, Shimoga-577 204, India

Traveling to Shimoga

By Air
Presently, Mangalore airport is the nearest airport that connects Shimoga to all the major cities in India, such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa, Kochi, Kozhikode and Chennai. Located at a distance of about 200 kms from Shimoga, the airport is also well connected with international destinations such as Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait and Sharjah. An airport in Shimoga is also under construction and would soon be operational.

By Rail
Shimoga is well connected by railways. Falling under the South Western Railways', the Shimoga town railway station is connected with Talguppa. The station falls under the Bangalore-Talguppa rail route. Bangalore-Shimoga Express regularly plies up and down the route. The nearest main railhead is Tarikere Junction Railway Station.

By Road
Shimoga is connected by road to all of the important locations in the state. From Bangalore, one can take the NH 4 towards Yeshwantpur and Nelamangala. On the road to Tumkur, change to NH 206 via Gubbi. Continue on NH 206 and you would reach Shimoga, crossing Tiptur, Arsikere and Kadur.
