About Event

Root to Shoot VentureFest 2026 is a national-level entrepreneurship mega event organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Vadapalani Campus.

Built around the theme “Engineering Ideas into Enterprises”, VentureFest is a two-day entrepreneurial journey designed to help student innovators transform ideas into ventures through learning, customer validation, pitching and expert evaluation.

Day 1 – The Germination & Sapling Day focuses on developing the entrepreneurial mindset, customer validation and pitch-building. The day features an inaugural keynote, masterclasses on customer validation and the anatomy of a perfect pitch, followed by the Live “ShootStreet” Mock Market, where selected student ventures interact with a live audience to validate their ideas.

Day 2 – The Flowering Day culminates in the Root-to-Shoot Shark Tank, where selected student ventures present their ideas before an external panel comprising professionals from entrepreneurship, incubation and the startup ecosystem.

The event brings together aspiring entrepreneurs, student venture teams, founders, mentors and startup ecosystem professionals to create an environment for learning, validation, networking and venture development.
