About Event
In this competition, the participant or team of participants must design and build an autonomous robotic “mouse” capable of traversing a maze of standard dimensions from a specified corner to its center in the shortest time possible.
GUIDELINES:
All enrolled students are eligible to participate in the Maze Explorer event.
A team must consist of a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 members.
Participants are restricted from being part of multiple teams simultaneously.
Contestants are required to construct a self-operating maze explorer; remote control operation is strictly prohibited.
The competition will feature a single round.
RULES:
For participation, all teams must register online on the official BIT V-PRAYUKTI’24 website.
BIT V-PRAYUKTI’24 is not responsible for late, lost, or misdirected entries / any bot damages during bot run.
The micro-mouse is granted a maximum of 10 minutes to navigate the maze, from the start of the timer.
There will be two penalties, one is a search penalty that tells about how much time is being spent on the maze to start its new run and the other penalty is
a touch penalty that tells about how many times the micro-mouse touched the walls.
A runtime is noted after every run of a mouse, covering the distance from the starting position to the destination.
Upon entering the venue, each participant is required to promptly and safely hand over their Micro mouse robot to designated event staff or organizers.
After revealing the maze, the participants are not allowed to make any changes to the micro mouse.
The prize is awarded to the mouse with the shortest official time.
BOT SPECIFICATION:
The robot must be controlled autonomously with no human aid.
A Maze Solver shall not use an energy source employing a combustion process.
A Maze Solver shall not leave any part of its body behind while navigating the maze.
A Maze Solver shall not jump over, fly over, climb, scratch, cut, burn, mark, damage, or destroy the walls of the maze.
TEAM FORMATION:
A team can consist of a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5 members. Any institution or group of students may form a team or individuals may also participate.
BOT DIMENSIONS:
A micro-mouse shall not be larger in length or width than 16 cm.
There are no restrictions on the height of a Micro mouse.
The weight of the bot should be less than 2kg.
MAZE SPECIFICATIONS:
Maze Dimensions - The maze is composed of 18cm x 18cm unit squares arranged to form a 16 x 16 unit grid.
The walls of the units of the maze are 5 cm high and 1.2 cm thick (assume 5% tolerance or ± 2cm for mazes). An outside wall encloses the entire maze.
REGISTRATION FEE - RS 500
TEAM SIZE - 1 to 5 members
REGISTRATION DEADLINE - 20th MARCH
