It is based on non-invasive and wearable sensors, actuators and modern communication, information technologies offers an efficient and cost-effective solution that allows the people to continue to live in their comfortable zone. These systems will also allow healthcare personnel to monitor the important physiological signs of their patients in real time, assess health conditions and provide feedback from distant facilities. The wearable sensors play a critical role in such monitoring systems that attract the attention of many researchers, entrepreneurs, and tech giants in recent years. The purpose of this seminar is to provide a snapshot of current developments and future direction of research on wearable and implantable body area network systems for continuous monitoring of patients. A variety of application specific wearable sensors, physiological and activity monitoring systems will be discussed in this seminar.
