Optimization techniques have been expanding in all directions at an astonishing rate during the last few decades. New algorithmic and theoretical techniques have been developed, the diffusion into other disciplines has proceeded at a rapid pace, and our knowledge of all aspects of the field has grown even more profound. Optimization technique has been a basic tool in all areas of applied mathematics, engineering, medicine, economics and other sciences. Moreover, multiobjective optimization is an area of multiple criteria decision making, that is concerned with mathematical optimization problems involving more than one objective function to be optimized simultaneously. This FDP will be addressing the fundamental understanding on multiobjective optimization problems and also study applications involving such problems. The programme also focuses on TRIZ and its principles, standard solutions applied to solve contradictions in New Product Development.
