About Event

CYBER-X HUNT — Capture The Flag (CTF) is a one-day technical cybersecurity event organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Engineering & Technology (DSCET), ECR, Mamallapuram, Chennai.

The event is designed to provide participants with an engaging and challenging platform to test their technical knowledge, cybersecurity awareness, and practical problem-solving abilities. CYBER-X HUNT consists of two major games: a Technical Quiz and a progressive Capture The Flag (CTF) competition.

Game 1 — Technical Quiz (100 Points)

The event begins with a single-round technical quiz focused on technical and cybersecurity domains. This round evaluates participants' understanding of cybersecurity concepts and technical knowledge, serving as the initial assessment before they proceed to the practical CTF challenges. The maximum score for this round is 100 points, which will be added to the CTF score.

Game 2 — Capture The Flag (CTF) Competition (900 Points)

The CTF competition is the practical cybersecurity challenge of CYBER-X HUNT. Participants will solve a series of cybersecurity problems across three progressive difficulty levels, with challenges becoming more difficult from Easy to Hard.

The CTF consists of a total of 25 challenges:

• Round 1 — Easy: 10 challenges | 100 points

• Round 2 — Medium: 10 challenges | 300 points

• Round 3 — Hard: 5 challenges | 500 points

The CTF uses a time-based scoring system, with points decreasing gradually based on the time taken to solve each challenge. A live scoreboard displays real-time scores and rankings, encouraging participants to demonstrate speed, accuracy, and effective problem-solving.

The 900 points earned in the CTF will be combined with the 100 points from the Technical Quiz, resulting in a maximum overall score of 1,000 points. The final results will be determined based on participants' total scores from both games.

Participants may register individually or as a team of up to two members. The registration fee is ₹200 per team or individual. Normal search engines and publicly available documentation are allowed, while AI assistance, sharing flags, solutions, write-ups, and payloads are strictly prohibited. Participants must only interact with the designated CTF infrastructure and follow all event rules.

CYBER-X HUNT provides an opportunity for participants to challenge their cybersecurity skills, improve their technical problem-solving abilities, and experience a competitive Capture The Flag environment.
