About Event
Hack-AI-Thon's aim is to foster innovation among AI enthusiasts, both from within our organization and externally. It is organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Karpagam College of Engineering. It encourages students to take their innovation to the POC level that industries expect. We assure you that by the end of this Hackathon, students will have industry-ready products, which can also be converted into their own StartUp.

Team size: 1-5 members
You Should solve any problem of the given theme, we don’t encourage beyond the scope.
Phase One:
Choose a problem statement on your own by following the given theme and work on the POC (following the theme is mandatory)
End date: 20/6/2023
Themes:
Artificial Intelligence should be used in whatever problem is chosen. Select a theme from the following themes:
Agriculture - Explore innovative solutions to optimize crop production, improve farming practices, and enhance sustainability in agriculture, leveraging technology and data-driven approaches for increased productivity, reduced environmental impact, and enhanced food security.
Healthcare - Drive advancements in healthcare through the integration of technology and data analytics, fostering the development of personalized medicine, telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and AI-powered diagnostics, enabling improved patient care, disease prevention, and healthcare accessibility.
Education - Revolutionize the educational landscape by harnessing technology to create engaging and personalized learning experiences, encompassing online platforms, interactive tools, adaptive learning systems, and virtual reality, to empower students, educators, and institutions in achieving enhanced educational outcomes and bridging educational gaps.
Security - Address the evolving challenges in security by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data analytics to develop robust cybersecurity measures, threat detection systems, biometric authentication, and surveillance solutions, ensuring privacy, safeguarding critical infrastructure, and countering emerging cyber threats.
AI-driven Smart Appliances - Pioneer the next generation of smart appliances by integrating artificial intelligence into everyday devices, enabling intelligent automation, predictive maintenance, energy efficiency, and seamless connectivity, thereby revolutionizing the way we interact with our homes, improving convenience, and enhancing the quality of life.
Solutions: (Applicable for any chosen theme)
Find the type of solution and prepare accordingly, either Software based or Hardware based.
Software-based solutions must include:
Frontend - Ex: Streamlit, Gradio, etc
Backend - MongoDB, GCP, AWS, etc
Use or creation of API
Use of Frameworks/Libraries like Tensorflow, Scikit-learn, etc.
Optional: Hardware tools such as Jetson Nano tool kit, Raspberry PI, etc
Hardware Solutions: (Only, if needed)
Video Demonstration
Must include AI-related Solutions only
Note:
Solution criteria are mandatory and participants will be disqualified, if not satisfied.
Hardware tools such as the Jetson Nano tool kit, Raspberry PI, etc can be used upon the problem statement chosen.
Submission Guidelines:
PPT - Which includes
Clearly defining your problem statement,
Mention your approach,
Tech stack used for making POC model
Any diagram which supports your POC,
GitHub with access and Blog posts on POC
Video link(YouTube or Drive link).
Minimum of 5 testimonials on the developed POC model
PPT should be in the given template only. Templates of other formats on user interest cannot be considered and validated.
Evaluation Criteria:
Total Score in Phase One: 50
Defining a clear problem statement - 10
PPT(should follow the given template) - 5
Explanation video(max of 5min, clarity) - 5
GitHub repository(with proper readme file) - 10
Tech stack used - 10
Uniqueness in models - 10
Note: The final list will be based on a minimum of 40 out of 50 scores in the first phase.
Phase two:
On 24th June all the candidates who cleared the first round should present their POC online. Software solutions should be provided as API/Application and Hardware solutions as video demonstration.
