Biodiversity is one of the major concerns of today’s era. Biodiversity continues to decline, due to the increase in the industrialization and urbanization. It is a great opportunity to explore entrepreneurship in this space.

Importance of Biodiversity
In the past 100 Years, the world economy expanded seven fold.
Global population increased from 1.6 billion to 7 billion.
More than 3 billon people depend on marine and coastal biodiversity.
More than 1.6 billion people rely on forests and non-timber forest products.
Loss of biodiversity poses a significant threat to our livelihoods.

The world has lost half of its tropical forests
20% of plant species and 10-30% of all mammal, bird and amphibian species are currently threatened with extinction.

Objective
The objectives of training are bringing awareness about biodiversity among research communities and also explore business opportunities for sustenance in this area.
