Rapid increasing of diabetes mellitus is now global problem and development of a safe and convenient blood sugar level monitoring technology is strongly required. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems are an emerging technology that allows frequent glucose measurements and the ability to monitor glucose trends in real time. Although there is no cure for diabetes, blood glucose monitoring combined with appropriate CGM systems is introduced firstly, and medication can enhance treatment efficiency, alleviate the symptoms, as well as diminish the complications. For point-of-care purposes, Continuous Glucose Monitoring devices are considered to be the best candidates for diabetes therapy. This event focuses on current growth areas of CGM technologies, specifically focusing on subcutaneous implantable electrochemical glucose sensors, invasive and non-invasive biosensors for diabetic’s management in clinical field.
