About Event

Spread over three days, Carpe Diem is one of the most eagerly awaited festivals on the B-school calendar. It provides a platform for over 15,000 participants from some of the most prestigious institutes of India like the IITs, the IIMs, NITs, Delhi University, Calcutta University and other reputed B-schools and colleges across India, to come together and showcase their talent in music, dance, quizzing, adventure sports, creativity, theatre and literary events.


Last year we had presence of following eminent personalities and bands :



1. Shashi Tharoor- Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs

2. Amit Trivedi- Indian Film Composer, Musician, Singer and Lyricist

3. Raghu Dixit- Lead of a contemporary Folk Rock Band and a film composer

3. Parikrama- Rock and Roll band that has been in the business for more than 25 years

4 Kalyan Biswa Rath- Indian Stand-up comedian; popular for his Youtube series- 'Pretentious Movie Reviews'

Carpe Diem is the largest and most popular cultural festival among B-Schools from Eastern India. We organize a total of 60+ events spreading over all facades of cultural development as well as informal events to enjoy the leisure time in between the busy schedules. With a total participation exceeding 3000 over a span of 3 days, more than Rs.14 lakhs of prize money is on the stake.

How to reach IIM Calcutta, Kolkata

The Joka Campus of the Institute is situated on the Diamond Harbour Road, about 20 kms. from the Howrah Station, 18 kms. from the Sealdah Station,and 35 kms. from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The campus is about 2 kms. south of the Joka Tram Terminus and about 3 kms.south of the Thakurpukur Bus Terminus.

Prepaid taxis available from Howrah/Sealdah Railway Station and the Airport to IIM Calcutta Joka Campus.
