CSIR sponsored Two Day National Level Workshop on Thin Film Technology for Gas Sensing Applications 2019

About Event

In recent days, gas sensing technology have received much attention due to harmful effect of the toxic gases which affects human and environment. The gases containing sulfur can result in undesirable disastrous deformations such as infection to respiratory track and lung cancer. Hence, it is necessary to detect toxic gases which are naturally present in the atmosphere as well. Therefore there is a need for low cost and more effective gas sensor operable in sub-ppm range. Thin film gas sensor has been regarded as a promising solid-state gas sensor for hazardous gas detection.

The overall objective of this workshop is to provide an insight in the different techniques for preparing thin films gas sensors for the deduction of several target gases and strategies to improve the sensing characteristic, particularly gas sensitivity and selectivity. The challenges and future trends of thin film technology for gas sensing applications will also be discussed in this workshop.
