About Event

Debate is a team-based speaking competition designed to test participants’ communication, reasoning, spontaneity, and persuasive skills. Teams of 2–3 members will compete against each other on a given topic, with participants required to present arguments either in favour of or against the motion. Topics may cover general, imaginative, technical, or social themes. Participants will be evaluated based on their clarity of thought, confidence, fluency, creativity, reasoning, humour, and ability to persuade the audience and judges. Each participant must actively contribute and follow the time limits given by the coordinators. Offensive, vulgar, or inappropriate content will not be permitted and may lead to immediate disqualification. The competition encourages participants to think quickly, express ideas effectively, and respond confidently to opposing viewpoints. Judges will assess overall performance, argument quality, presentation, and persuasive ability. The judges’ decision will be final and binding.
