About Event

The programme will cover the fundamentals of battery modeling and health estimation for electric vehicle applications, including basic battery behavior, degradation mechanisms, and commonly used modeling approaches such as equivalent circuit, electrochemical, and data-driven models. Core battery states like state of charge (SoC) and state of health (SoH), which are crucial for effective battery management systems, will be explained. In addition, the programme will address recent advances in battery modeling and health estimation, with emphasis on modern estimation algorithms, observer-based methods, and the growing use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques. Advances in health estimation of EV batteries for after-use will also be discussed, highlighting accurate assessment of residual capacity, reliability, and their role in enabling safe second-life applications such as energy storage and sustainable battery reuse.
