About Event

Protothon 2k25 is a 24-hour National Level Hackathon organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), Chennai.

This hackathon brings together innovators and developers to build creative solutions to real-world problems.

Event Dates: December 5–6, 2025
Venue: Dr. M.G.R Auditorium, HITS

Eligibility:

Open to UG students from recognized institutions.
Team Size: 3 - 4 members (same institution)
Valid student ID / bonafide required
Cross-disciplinary teams are allowed
Inter-college teams not allowed.
Registration
Fee:

₹250 per participant (External)
₹200 per participant (HITS Students)
Teams must register through the official online portal.
Each team must nominate a Team Leader for communication and coordination.
No onspot registration.
Event Structure (3 Rounds – No Eliminations)
Ideation: Present idea and approach.
Development: Build and demonstrate progress.
Final Demo: Showcase final prototype & impact.
Evaluation is based on innovation, execution, and real-world relevance.

Problem statements from industry partners.
Winners receive cash prizes + internship opportunities.
Innovation Impact Track
Problem statements revealed during the event.
Focus on social & technological impact.
Winners receive cash prizes + certificates.

Rules & Guidelines
Bring your own laptops & hardware. (Based on problem statements)
Original work only; no pre-built projects.
Work must be done within the 24-hour event.
Internet and power supply provided.
No accommodation; participants manage their own stay.
