About Event
Meqnzo'25: The Pinnacle of Mechanical Ingenuity
Meqnzo'25, the 12th National Level Technical Symposium by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM Valliammai Engineering College, is a one-day celebration of innovation, skill, and knowledge. Scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Old Seminar Hall, SVEC, this event brings together brilliant minds from across the nation to compete, collaborate, and showcase their mechanical engineering prowess.
Events
1. Technical Paper Presentation Description: The cornerstone of any technical symposium. This event provides a formal platform for participants to present their original research, innovative projects, case studies, or review papers. It is ideal for those who have undertaken deep research and wish to disseminate their findings to a critical and knowledgeable audience. Focus: Research depth, innovation, presentation skills, and the ability to handle technical queries.
2. Mech Talk Description: A unique event that tests not just knowledge, but also eloquence and persuasion. Participants are given a relevant and contemporary topic related to mechanical engineering (e.g., "The Future of Electric Vehicles in India," "AI in Manufacturing," "Challenges of Space Robotics") and a limited time to speak on it. It emphasizes clarity of thought, communication power, and stage presence. Focus: Oratory skills, conceptual clarity, structuring arguments, and engaging the audience.
3. Mech Quiz Description: A classic test of speed and knowledge. Teams battle it out in a high-octane quiz that covers the vast expanse of mechanical engineering—from fundamental concepts and history to current trends and trivia. The event typically features a preliminary written round to select the top teams for the exhilarating final oral round. Focus: Breadth of knowledge, quick recall, teamwork, and accuracy under pressure.
4. Metal Mettle Description: The ultimate hands-on, practical engineering challenge. This event moves beyond theory and into the workshop. Teams are given a problem statement, a kit of materials (which may include metal sheets, wires, motors, tools, etc.), and a fixed time to build a functional prototype or model that solves the given challenge (e.g., a bridge capable of holding maximum load, a vehicle that can traverse terrain, a pneumatic lifter). Focus: Practical application, design thinking, innovation, manual dexterity, and teamwork.
5. Mech Morph Description: A event centered on the digital realm of mechanical design. Participants are challenged using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software. The challenge could be to model a complex component from a given drawing, reverse engineer a product, or perform a specific simulation and analysis within a strict time limit. Focus: Proficiency in CAD software (like SolidWorks, CATIA, or ANSYS), speed, accuracy, and understanding of design principles. give me an short and crisp description
