Centre for Composite Materials, Department of Mechanical Engineering organizing a One Day Experiential Learning Workshop on "Advanced Composite Materials and Structures"

About the Workshop:
This workshop intends to enrich and expose the participants to advanced polymer composites and structures. This programme will impart sound theoretical knowledge on Advanced polymer composites, Smart Materials and Structures, Computational Mechanics, Structural Vibration and Structural optimization. This programme will give exposure to various thermoset polymers, Smart memory polymers, self-healing polymers, Synthetic and Natural fibres and different types of cores such as Honeycomb, Foam, FRP Honeycombs, Magneto Rheological Elastomers. Exclusively this programme includes practical sessions to have a better understanding of Polymer processing techniques, composite fabrication methods (Hand Layup Method, VARTM, Compression moulding), Fabrication of complex composite structures such as Delamination composites, laminated plate and Shell structures (Uniformand Tapered), Nanocomposites, Sandwich Composite Structures with different types of cores such as FRP Honeycombs, Magneto-Rheological Elastomers and smart Polymer Composite structures
Theory 20% and Practical - 80%
OUTCOMES:
• Participants will able to illustrate the characteristics and processing techniques of advanced polymers. synthesize the nano polymer composites
• fabricate the complex composite structures.
• infer the mechanics of advanced composites through its manufacturing
• get clarity on their research problem
• identify the research gap
REGISTRATION:
