About Event
About the Workshop
The increased competences of future engineers will boost the electrification of transport means used in India. The potential of electrification is huge: electrification can improve the air quality and produce new business opportunities in India. With sufficient competences, Indian engineers can develop own products for local companies. The products for electro-mobility exits, but are not limited to electrical vehicle design, manufacturing, charging, and infrastructure. Various opportunities exist also in services related to electro-mobility, such as search engines for charging stations, vehicle-to-vehicle communication, and other service-related smart phone and mobility. Significant opportunities exist, particularly in lightweight vehicles such as three-wheeler auto-rickshaw and two-wheelers. Electrifying the transportation enables significant economic and environmental benefits, and new opportunities for consumer engagement. In the last 10 years, a significant number of electric vehicles have been deployed. The electric vehicles such as Tesla model S have significantly increased the perception about the viability and usefulness of electric vehicles. In addition, more than 400,000 plug-in electric vehicles are on the road today. Trends clearly suggest that we must educate the engineers of today and tomorrow in the technical details of electric vehicles. There is a strong need for engineers who can do research, design, develop, and commercialize the zero or low emission vehicles to advance the deployment of electrified transportation system.
Course Objectives:
-Understand the electrical vehicle functions
-Recognize various components required for different electrical vehicles
-Understand the requirement for the infrastructure, including various charging station and Battery managements, power distribution solutions required for electrical vehicles
