The biggest and the most awaited cultural week of NIT Silchar, Incandescence, is a platform of sheer exultation. Boasting of active participation from the people of all-over the north east, Incandescence, is famous for spotting, finding and developing hidden talents. In Incandescence, we organise events such as DEPRADOR, where skilled debaters from all over India compete to be crowned , the ultimate debater. Then there is Gliteratti, one of the sophisticated Fashion Fiesta, for both the hot and the cool, to display the real passion for fashion. It also has RAZMATAZZ, the ultimate battle-ground for the school students in Silchar and its vicinity. Incandescence is the dynamic festival of NIT Silchar, where we introduce some new and innovative events every year. Kavi-Sammelan, Stand-up comedy act, street drama etc are also a few highly sought events. There is the heart-pumping, high octane rock fest, Thundermarch which boasts of having Papon, Baiju Dharmajan, Jonita Gandhi, Monali Thakur as its lead Performer in the bygone years.

How to reach NIT Silchar

NIT, Silchar, located on the Silchar-Hailakandi road, is just 8 kms away from the southern outskirts of
Silchar town. To reach NIT, Silchar campus, one has to first reach Silchar town which is in the Cachar
district of Assam and is connected to the rest of the country by road, rail and air.
