IBeTo or “Innovations for a Better Tomorrow” is the national level pursuit, hosted by Excel, the national annual techno managerial fest conducted by Govt. Model Engineering College, Kochi, for extraordinary innovative minds with ideas capable of aiding social upliftment through technology. IBeTo 2015 is the fourth edition of IBeTo which promises to be as exciting as ever and with a commitment to bring the trailblazers to the forefront and change tomorrow for the better. Twenty most promising entries will receive first-rate technical guidance from eminent mentors and necessary financial assistance to realize their project. IBeTo, for the past 3 editions has been a unique platform, for young innovators from all across the country, to demonstrate how their ideas can help make a better tomorrow. It acts as a bridge between technical innovation and social relevance. Students are invited to give in abstracts elucidating their ideas that can help shape the future of our society. Technical assistance will be provided to the selected teams to make their ideas into realities.The brightest of these ideas that are realised as products are awarded a grand prize of worth 1 lakh rupees! In this way IBeTo strives to be the bridge joining social relevance and technical innovation, to connect the pioneer and the populace. IBeTo has gotten better and more exciting this year. The best projects of IBeTo 2015 selected by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) could get a chance to bag seed fund upto Rs. Twenty lakhs per project apart from the grand prize money. They are also guaranteed first-rate technical guidance from MIT professor Mr. Rajesh Nair and granted a chance to fabricate their product in his Fablab, which is the only fabrication lab in South India and one out of only 7 such labs in India, thus, ensuring that innovative ideas evolve them into successful entrepreneurs who can help in contributing to the development of our nation.
