About Event

Seismech, is the flagship event of the Mechanical Engineering Student Association (MESA), IIT Guwahati. It is conceptualized to develop and strengthen the engineering spirit of the students of IIT Guwahati and other North-East colleges. It is aimed to provide a complete learning experience to the attendees and enrich them with knowledge of the technological sector and improve their confidence and drive them ready to change the world they live in.

Lecture Series: Healthy interaction and exchange of ideas with experts and luminaries who have achieved laurels in industry and in research respectively is what we offer through our Lecture series Industrial Development Problem: This event will be a platform where we shall invite a problem directly from Industry and the best solution offered by our participants. With an influx of fresh ideas and different perspectives coming from young talented minds, companies create new avenues for further technological innovation as well. Poster presentation: As all the students take part in some project or the other during their engineering studies, we provide them a platform to showcase there project in the form of a poster. Competitions: Online: Online module comprises of competitions such as Quiz On, PhotoMech, Vision Workshops: incorporation of a hand on learning experience with fun as well as interesting introduction to the latest technology in different fields Pradarshini: the exhibition module, show cases the latest trends in the different fields of technology. GaonChalo: a social initiative started by the students of IIT Guwahati to spread social awareness and education in villages around Guwahati.

How to reach IIT Guwahati

Guwahati, regarded as the gateway to the northeastern states, is easily accessible by air, rail and road. Guwahati by Air: There are direct flights from/to Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata with connectivity to all major cities in the country. Air India, Jet Airways, Spicejet, Indigo operate regular flights to and from Guwahati. From Airport to IITG: Getting to IITG from the airport (which may take around 40 minutes) will cost around Rs. 550 in a pre-paid taxi available at the airport. Taxis are available for transport within the city but are without meters and fares have to be negotiated and the same applies to auto-rickshaws. There is also an extensive network of city bus service. Guwahati by Train: Guwahati is a major station of North Frontier Railway. It is very well connected with all major cities of India.
