About Event

TAM is an acronym for TECHNOLOGY AWARENESS MONTH which is a month long programme on technology awareness with the inclusion of a large number of events related to technology. It is an idea generated by the students, for the students and from the students. TAM aims to identify talent in the students and encourage them to enhance their innate abilities. TAM v1.0 was a month long extravaganza which made it the most talked about and awaited event in the SMEC calendar. So, the CSI student branch of SMEC has initiated the second season of TAM i.e.., TAM v2.0. It is scheduled from 19th September to 25th October 2014. TAM v2.0 aims to provide an opportunity to the students to EXPLORE the technology beyond their books with its quizzes, guest lectures and workshops. It encourages them to ENHANCE their diplomacy and spontaneity with group discussions, debates and youth parliament. It is a platform for the students with innovative ideas to come forward and ENLIGHTEN their fellow students with Martinian Talks and Martinian Innovations. SPELL BEE, YOUTH PARLIAMENT and MARTINIAN INNOVATIONS are the new events that have been added to TAM v2.0 making it different from TAM v1.0. The opening ceremony of TAM v2.0 took place on 19th September 2014. The chief guest for the opening ceremony was Brigadier Ganeshan. The chief guest encouraged the students to work for the society as the technology is standardised but the nature is customised. He asked them not to standardise the technology but work towards customising it according to the needs of the society. The events of TAM v2.0 are scheduled to start from 20th September 2014 and the students of SMEC are looking forward to participate in this extravagant event.
