This three day festival by E-Cell, IIT Kanpur on the theme Emerge on the Radar encompasses exhilarating events like inspiring talks by eminent personalities, enriching workshops and thought-provoking competitions. It is all set to continue encouraging entrepreneurial minds all over the nation by watering 'Ideas' in the bud and helping them bloom into impactful endeavors.
E-Summit invites all, young and emerging entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs of the future, and even those who are new to the entrancing word 'entrepreneurship'. The competitions are uniquely designed to allow everyone's participation, the workshops shall cater to all stages of current knowledge and of course, the talks are informative for one and all. Below is a brief description of all the exciting events in E-summit, 2014.
COMPETITIONS
Mind Your Business: This game gives exposure to the real scenario of start-ups. As entrepreneurs would be trying to raise money to fulfill their objectives, investors will be trying to maximize their profit and make more money. Compete with your rival and emerge as the best entrepreneur and investor.
Pitch-ur-Product: This event gives you an opportunity to transform your innovation in forms of simple summer projects or research work into actual entrepreneurial ideas. It examines the participants’ ability to evaluate the market or the customer needs or their distribution strategy.
SoCha: This competition urges you to bring up an idea to cover the loopholes in the life of common man and gives you a chance to make your idea a reality. Success in this, is largely measured by the number of lives getting transformed by your concept. So, merge business acumen with a tinge of your entrepreneurship skills to pave way for a better world.
Case Study: The case study competition aims to bring together the collective intellect and assimilate innovative solutions, breakthroughs and best practices that can help change the status of a given problem.
WORKSHOPS
Ideas Generation: This shall refine your thought process and make you understand your own ideas better. Learn here, how the seeds of the idea you sowed should be watered and cared for to sprout into a start-up.
Let's Venture: This shall get you acquainted with the nitty- gritty of the fund raising business. It will prepare entrepreneurs looking to raise angel money for their start-ups, to create investment ready profiles online, and connect to accredit investors.

Accommodation
Separate accommodation arrangement will be done for boys and girls in the students' and visitors' hostels on IIT Kanpur campus. Bedding and other essential facilities will be provided round the clock.
How to reach IIT Kanpur
Arrival by AIR: Participants coming to Kanpur by air are strongly recommended to fly into Lucknow Airport. Lucknow airport is located about 80 kms from IIT Kanpur. You can hire taxis at the airport. The typical cost will be between Rs. 1000 and Rs. 1600, depending on the vehicle used. It takes anywhere between two and three hours to drive from the Lucknow airport to the IITK. It is not recommended to fly to Kanpur airport.
Arrival by TRAIN: Kanpur Central Railway station is well connected to most cities in North, East and Central India. It is located on the Delhi-Kolkata train route and all major trains between these cities usually pass through Kanpur. IIT Kanpur is located at a distance of about 16 kilometers from the Kanpur Central Railway Station. It is possible to hire taxis (about Rs. 250) and autorickshaws(about Rs.130) to IITK from the station. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Kanpur Central railway station to IIT Kanpur.
