It’s not everyday that you get an open invitation to have two days of unlimited fun at Trivandrum’s much coveted Women’s College, officially the Government College for Women. So, when the Department of English puts together its best brains and talents to revive some of the College’s past glories, why wait?! Pull up your socks, freshen up your energies, dust up some magical charisma and waltz into Women’s College on the 24th and 25th of January, 2014. ‘WITS’ is conceived as a ‘Battle of Wits’ but that is not exactly why we named it so. WITS or Women’s Innovative Talent Seekers are a group of enthusiastic girls trying to bring the city’s best talents together, towards one common platform. The legacy of this intercollegiate literary-cultural fest dates back to 1991. Back then, WITS had the glory of being the first-of-its-kind literary festival hosted by any college in Trivandrum. In the past two years, this battle of talent and intellect gained the reverence of a national fête, attracting vibrant youth from as many as sixty colleges across the country. This year, we are all set to embrace the passion once again! What do we young women want to see in the world around us, you ask? Wits, we say, pure, sparkling wits!
