ABOUT THE EVENT :

TRACEBACK is a unique Engineering Failure Case Study Presentation Competition organized by the IEEE Reliability Society.

Unlike conventional paper presentation events where participants prepare a topic in advance, TRACEBACK challenges participants to analyze a real-world engineering failure case during the competition itself.



RULES :

Engineering analysis must be based primarily on the information provided in the case study.

• Teams should justify every major conclusion using technical evidence.

• External assumptions should be clearly stated if used.

• The jury's decision will be final.



EVENT FLOW :

PHASE 1 – Engineering Failure Case Distribution. Each team will receive one engineering failure case study.

PHASE 2– Engineering Analysis : Teams will be given 60–90 minutes to study the case, identify failure mechanisms, analyze contributing factors, perform root cause analysis, and prepare a technical presentation.

PHASE 3 – Technical Presentation : Teams will present their engineering findings before the jury, justify their conclusions using the available evidence, and recommend preventive engineering solutions.

• Engineering Failure Analysis

• Root Cause Identification

• Identification of Contributing Factors

• Evidence-Based Technical Reasoning

• Engineering Logic and Analysis

• Preventive Measures and Reliability Improvements

• Technical Presentation Skills

There is no pre-defined answers. Everything will be judged on the spot.



NOTE :

All the participants will recieve an E- certificate for participation.
Winners will receive physical certificates and cash prize on spot.
Refreshments will be provided to everyone.
For Internal Participants (per person) - Rs. 200
For External Participants (per person) - Rs. 250
