About Event

The Centre for Climate Change Studies is organizing a 3-day hands-on training workshop on "Amplicon & Shotgun Metagenome Sequence Analysis." This workshop offers practical exposure to Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis, 16S rRNA amplicon analysis using MOTHUR and QIIME2, shotgun metagenome assembly using MEGAHIT and metaSPAdes, microbial community profiling, and metagenomic data interpretation. It is designed for faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, PhD scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students, researchers, and enthusiasts interested in Amplicon & Shotgun Metagenome Sequence Analysis.

Learn basics/ theory of
• Next Generation Sequencing technologies
•Process and purpose of amplicon ( 16S rRNA) sequencing
•Unpacking shotgun metagenomics

Hands-on-training for:
• 16S rRNA analysis using MOTHUR/ QIIME2
•Shotgun metagenomics using MEGAHIT/metaSPAdes

This is an Introductory course, no prior experience on data analysis required.

Guest lectures by subject experts.

Certification of participation on completion of the workshop.
