About Event

Since 2008, TMES has been proudly organizing its annual mining summit titled "GREAT STEP" (Geo Resource Engineering and Technology – Students', Teachers', and Employers' Partnership) during the spring semester. This focused Technology Fest is for students across the country and from various disciplines connected with the Natural Resource Industries.
The key objectives of GREAT STEP are to: Connect students’ technical talent with real-world industry challenges, fostering collaboration and future career pathways
• Provide a dynamic platform for interaction between academia and industry leaders in the mining and allied sectors.
GREAT STEP 2026 will feature a wide range of engaging student-centric events, including:
• Mine Safety and Geodata Analytics
• Case Studies in Mining, Petroleum, and Environment
• Quiz Events – Quiz Spiel and Mineac
• National Mining Innovation Challenge and Industrial Design Problems
• Mine Modelling: CAD-based design of safe and efficient underground mine layouts
