Objective
With the increasing complexity and environmental impact of modern communication systems, there is a growing demand for fast, energy-efficient, and sustainable technologies. Optical Wireless Communication (OWC) presents a promising solution, offering high-speed, energy-efficient data transmission for various industries. This FDP aims to familiarize faculty and research scholars with the latest advancements in OWC technology, emphasizing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

o FSO Communication Signal Propagation through Atmospheric Channels
o Hands-on Simulation of Free-Space Optics Communication
2. Optical Networks and Turbulence Effects
o Study of atmospheric turbulence on OWC links
3. Diversity Techniques: MIMO in OWC
o MIMO Technology using LED Arrays and Fly-Eye Receivers
o Indoor Positioning Methods using VLC
4. Reconfigurable Optical Intelligent Surfaces
o Aided communication systems and OWC for space-air-ground integration
o Indoor VLC simulations using LED communication systems
5. Energy-Efficient OWC Systems
o Visible Light Communication for Next-Gen Communication
o Energy transfer, harvesting, and savings in OWC systems
6. Research Challenges in FSO Systems
o IoT/IoE, 6G, THz spectrum, and quantum communication integration

Faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students from AICTE-approved institutions and industry professionals within a 100km radius of SSMIET, Dindigul, are eligible. Prior successful completion of AICTE ATAL FDPs is preferred.
