As the demand for renewable energy resource is growing rapidly worldwide, a variety of energy materials and technologies are being developed. India has tremendous scope of generating solar energy. The geographical location of the country stands to its benefit for generating solar energy. Since majority of the population lives in rural areas, there is much scope for solar energy being promoted in these areas. Nowadays, thin film technology has received an enormous interest among the scientists and was used in solar cell application. Solar energy is free, renewable energy that has been employed in the world. The use of nanotechnology in solar cells can boost the cells performance because conventional solar cells can not convert all the incoming light into usable energy.
