About Event
A new generation of simulation software’s based on explicit or implicit Finite Element Method (FEM) are becoming more affordable and are increasing their reliability in the car body-in-white development. The design of body panels can be supported effectively by the use of the Forming Limit Diagram (FLD), through the computer simulation of the sheet metal forming process with the FEM. The objective of this seminar is to describes how an explicit finite element program can be applied to lay out industrial deep drawing processes, accomplished by the use of the FLD methodology and the updating procedure for the model data and the computational process. The main part of this seminar discusses simulation applied skills and explains in an example of industrial process how the use of the FLD can helps to improve the interpretation of the simulation and in the choice of the best steel. The motive of this seminar are to enrich the knowledge to the delegates in applying FE simulation to the three stages of the product development—part design, process model development and manufacturing try out the design and manufacture of light weight materials used in automotives.
