A Two-Day Workshop on Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Engineering 2019

About Event

The average temperature of the earth is rising at nearly twice the rate it was 50 years ago leading to global warming. This is mainly due to emission of CO2 by industries, thermal power plants and vehicles. To mitigate the emission of CO2, countries worldwide have planned to ban the production and future sale of IC engine-based vehicles. India also has decided to ban IC Engine based vehicles from the year 2030. Therefore, including India whole world is promoting electrical propulsion system in all the fields. The Indian government has formulated a Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles (FAME India) scheme in the year 2015 to promote manufacturing of electric and hybrid vehicle technology and to ensure sustainable growth of the same under the National Electric Mobility Mission 2020 to encourage the progressive introduction of reliable, affordable, and efficient electric and hybrid vehicles in the country. Globally, the electric car stock is projected to reach 20 million by 2020 and 70 million by 2025. India itself is estimated to see 30.81 million electric vehicles sales by 2040. Energy prices, environmental concerns, and fuel economy targets are driving the demand for hybrid and electric vehicles and this fuels the demand for skilled technicians and talented engineers. Most automobile companies are vowing to switch to electric, a cleaner and sustainable alternative. There is a surge in demand for skilled workforce in electric and hybrid vehicle technologies. But the industry is facing a shortage of aptly skilled workforce needed for the transition. This two-day workshop aims at addressing the lacuna and delivers the fundamentals, advanced knowledge and hands-on lab sessions in design, analysis, control, calibration and operating characteristics of Battery EV (BEV) and Hybrid EV (HEV).
