Multicore refers to an architecture in which a single physical processor incorporates the core logic of more than one processor. Multi-core architecture places multiple processor cores and bundles them as single physical processor. These are widely used across many application domains, including general purpose,embedded , network, digital signal processing and graphics. The improvement in performance gained by the use of a multi-core processor depends very much on the software algorithms used and their implementation.
