CFD is the study of predicting fluid flow, heat transfer, chemical reaction and other related phenomena by solving a set of governing mathematical equations. The results of CFD analysis are useful for conceptual studies of product design, detail product development, process troubleshooting. Besides, the benefit of CFD modeling is cost saving, timely, safe and easy to scale-up. CFD has proven to be useful and accurate to predict single phase flows and multiphase flows. CFD analysis complements testing and experimentation because CFD can reduce the total effort required in the experiment design and data acquisition. CFD codes turn computers into a virtual laboratory and perform equivalent "numerical experiment", which conveniently providing insight and foresight into the understanding of the complex flow pattern.

Workshops

This workshop aims to gather researcher’s disciplines to share and discuss their knowledge and experience in solving engineering problems by using CFD models. This workshop offers attendees the research opportunities using CFD in real life engineering applications through a simple and moderately technical approach. Due to the advances in numerical solution methods and computer technology, geometrically complex cases, like those which are often encountered in turbomachinery, can be treated. Computational fluid dynamics or CFD analysis is one of the key analysis methods used in engineering applications. The origins of CFD lies in the mankind’s efforts to better understand the power of natural elements like wind, storms, floods, or sea waves.
