St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Bangalore is proud to host a computer science inter-college fest “Syntaxia 2019” on 12th of February 2019.
This fest is the vision of Prof. Aparna Chinappa, a coordinator in the computer science department. Professor Aparna used to work very closely with children of the Kidwai Hospital, a cancer Oncology Institute in Bengaluru, helping care for their educational needs despite being hospitalized.
Recently, she has been forced to cut her time short as she is pursuing her PhD from Mangalore and that is why we would like to use this opportunity to help a social organization: Samiksha Foundation, which works for a similar cause.
Samiksha Foundation is a Creative Learning Initiative for children with cancer and their caregivers. Since 2009, they have been running their education program at the paediatric ward of Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, with around 110 children attending at a time while they undergo treatment.
We will donate all the proceeds that we raise through this fest to Samiksha Foundation and hopefully create more awareness about their work.
