Simulation is an essential ingredient in the analysis and design process of power electronics and electrical drives. It helps the design engineer to have a better understanding of the circuit operation and possible problems can be discovered in early phase of design process, resulting with adequate financial benefits. Also special electrical machines find wide applications in many of the recent inventions This hands-on training concentrates on the operation and control of various special electrical machines like switches reluctance motor, BLDC motor, Stepper motor and Linear induction motor. The prime aim of the workshop is to facilitate the participants in an elegant manner about the modeling of special electrical machines using MATLAB and to enrich the soft skill of the participants in controlling special electrical machines.
