About Event
Objective of the Workshop
The application of sustainability principles at the system level begins with the supply chain. Closed-loop systems approaches are followed in the planning and management of sourcing, procurement, manufacturing and logistics activities. Sustainability in the supply chain is a holistic perspective of supply chain processes and technologies that go beyond the focus of delivery, inventory and traditional views of cost. This emerging philosophy is based on the principle that socially responsible products and practices are not only good for the environment but are important for long-term profitability. Corporate images are subjected to their sustainability report, which showcases their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in handling the triple bottom line (TBL) of sustainable development by establishing internal and external green strategies across their supply chain network. Sustainable supply chain management provides improved operational efficiency and waste reduction across the supply chain considering carbon footprint reduction. This workshop will thus aim at catering the budding researchers, industrialists, and students with a wide knowledge on Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM).
