Simulation is an essential ingredient in the analysis and design process of power electronics and electric drives. It helps the design engineer to have a better understanding of the circuit operation and possible problems can be discovered in early phase of design process, resulting with adequate financial benefits. Software based simulation tool is an indispensable tool for research and development. This workshop presents the design of power electronic converters and controllers using PROTEUS and PSIM which includes AC/DC converters, DC/DC converters, DC/AC inverters and AC /AC converters. The prime aim of the workshop is to facilitate the participants in an elegant manner about the various software tools and provide hands on sessions related to the simulation circuits for various topologies of power converters and modeling of electric drives.
