About Event

Recent Advances in Civil Engineering (RACE) is a National Level Technical Symposium, proudly presented by the Department of Civil Engineering of JNTUA College of engineering, Anantapur attracting students from various places over the country. This event encourages the thirst to learn amongst the students and inspires them to ideate and innovate, which leads to the national integrity. Scientific Advances and Industrial growth have brought with them a parallel demand for the construction of civil engineering facilities. New and Novel methods have emerged in the field of Civil engineering. Recent Advances in Civil Engineering (RACE) gives you a chance to express & exchange your views in the field of Civil Engineering.
Race 2k16 will be held on March 10th&11th. Many events like sharing tech thoughts, poster presentations, quiz, techno hunt, debates, film makings…etc. are going to be organized as a part of the symposium.

Workshops

Work shop on Bridge Design and Fabrication (Hands on Session to Fabricate Bridge using Balsa wood) will be conducted by IBCC India in association with CEA Fest 2016, IIT Madras & ARK Techno solutions in collaboration with JNTUACEA on 09th march 2016.
Bridge Design is a vital topic to study in Civil Engineering. In the Bridge Design and Fabrication workshop, participants will design and fabricate their own bridge. The bridge model made by participants can take up to 1000 times of self-weight. The workshop includes instruction on the key structural components of Structural engineering and bridge construction – beams, arches, trusses, suspensions and test for maximum load
HIGHLIGHTS OF TRAINING
Introduction to Bridge Design through interactive lecture sessions with good multimedia content.
Hands-on practical session on CAD based Bridge Design, Fabrication and Testing.
Exposure to current industry methods used in Bridge Design.
TRAINING STRUCTURE
This Training is split into 3 modules
Lecture & Analysis : Participants would be taught various concepts involved in ‘Bridge Design’ and are made to perform CAD based analysis of their respective bridges
Fabrication : Each team will fabricate their own bridge according to their design with the raw material provided by us.
Testing: The participant’s bridge is tested for maximum load to judge the maximum efficiency.
CERTIFICATION:
Teams with maximum efficiency will be given best Design Award.
Top performers in the Training will be awarded Merit Certificates.
