Wildlife Awareness and Conservation Club (WACC) presents
SHUTTERBUG 4.0.
WACC is proud in organizing the 4th installment of SHUTTERBUG 4.0, a national level photography competition.
Theme: Elements of wildlife. The theme is a broad one so as to facilitate the participation of more people and to allow them more space for creativity. Photographs of any wild microbes, fungi, plants or animals will be considered. Wild/Semi wild organisms in urban settings are also allowed as long they are not interfered with.
Caution: Photographs of pets or animals in captivity will be disqualified. Only organisms in the wild are allowed. No modification or disturbance of the wildlife for capturing the photo is allowed. The photographs will to be disqualified if environmental modification is noticed.

Professionals- Rs.1000

The name of the participant should be clearly mentioned behind the DD in pencil.
The name of the participant and the college name (for student photographers) should also be mentioned clearly on the ENVELOPE and should be posted to the following address:

The competition will have only one section i.e., color print. Format is portrait or landscape.
Photographers must send TWO of their best images.
Image resolution should be a minimum of 15 mp(million pixels) at about 300 ppi(pixels per inch). 6500 × 3500 pixels for example, is a good image size. Any variations from the example are welcome as long as it conforms to the first criteria. Images must be sent in JPEG FORMAT to waccsjc@gmail.com and the name of the participant, his/her category, complete postal address, college name(for student photographers) and contact number must be clearly mentioned in the mail. No editing of any form is allowed (including cropping).
Entry must be accompanied with a brief note(about a 100 words) describing both of your photographs and why the photographer considers the photograph appropriate for the competition. In case there narrative is in regional/tribal language, then relevant translation needs to be attached.
WACC reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at their discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, the organizers reserve the right to award/not award the prizes in their sole discretion. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant whose entry or conduct appear in any way to: inhibit the enjoyment of others; tamper with the competition; violate these rules; infringe the rights of 3rd parties; or act in a disruptive manner. Decisions of the organizers are final.
Professionals and students will be judged separately.
Participants retain their rights over their photographs; however, by entering the competition , they grant the organizers and those authorized by the organizers, a royalty-free, country-wide, perpetual license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce original and derivative works out the entries, in whole or in parts, in any media for any purpose. Any photography reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The organizers will not be required to seek any permission for such uses.
No other payment except for the prize winning entries as indicated above will be made.
The winning images and overall winners will be selected for their originality and the strength of composition.
No more than one award will be given to a person.
Organizers will not be responsible for any kind of loss or damage in transit.
The photography exhibition, judgement and prize distribution ceremony will be held on December 4th 2015 at St. Joseph's College(Autonomous), Bangalore. Participants are required to be present physically on 4th December at the venue so as to verify the validity of their identity. They are welcome to stay back and participate in/watch the events of WILD 5.0, an intercollegiate wildlife fest to be held on the next day (5th December(Saturday))
The decision of the jury will be final and no queries or objections will be entertained.
By entering the competition all entrants confirm that their entries are their own original work and that they haven't infringed third party rights. By sending entries to this competition a photographer explicitly accepts the terms and conditions stated herein.
All participants will receive participation certificates.
Last date for sending entries is 20th November 2015. Entries received after the closing date will not be entertained.
