Events

Topics:  Structural Engineering.  Environmental Engineering.  Geotechnical Engineering.  Disaster Management.  Biomimics in Civil Engineering.  Ancient and modern construction techniques.  Nanotechnology and its applications.  Recent trends in Concrete Technology. Events and Rules: 1) Paper presentation:  Each paper should consist of two members (maximum).  The participants are required to send their abstracts before 30.01.2015 to treads2k15@gmail.com  The abstract should be brief, precise and in IEEE format.  Along with their abstract the participants are required to send their name, college name, contact number and mail ID.  Selected candidates will be intimated through a mail.  After confirmation selected candidates should send their full paper (both soft and hard copies) before 06.02.2015.  The selected candidates have to present for 5 min and will have discussion for 2 min.  The presentation should be in .ppt or .pptx.  Decision of judges will be the final 2) Poster presentation:  The poster must have your name and your college name.  Maximum of two participants per team is allowed.  The poster must be in A3 size.  The poster in prescribed form should be mailed to treads2k15@gmail.com before 30.01.2015.  The selection of posters will be intimated through mail. 3) Cube contest:  Maximum of three participants are allowed in a team.  Dimensions of cube should be 150x150x150mm  Grade of concrete should be M20.  Each team should bring 3 cubes.  The cube has to be cast 7th day prior to the event.  The frog which is to be provided in the cube will be informed by the organisers in the 7th day(05.02.2015)  Any admixtures can be used.  Natural and artificial fibres can be used.  The results will be based on dimensions, strength and materials used. 4) Surveyor’s challenge:  Preliminary round consists of MCQ’s related to surveying.  Finals will be experiments using surveying instruments.  Maximum of three members are allowed in a team.  All instruments and stationary will be provided by the organizers. 5) CADD contest:  Preliminary round will be MCQ,’s regarding to auto CAD.  The final round will be drawing using auto CAD in a limited time.  The competitors should participate in this event individually. 6) Code cracking:  The competitors should participate in this event individually.  Code books will be provided by the organizers. 7) Design quest:  The preliminary round will be the MCQ’s related to STADDPRO.  The final round will be designing a structure in a limited time. 8) Model making and land scaping:  Maximum of two members per team is allowed.  Materials will be provided and you should make a model at the spot. 9) Quiz:  The event will be both technical and non-technical.  Maximum of two members per team.  Rules will be given at the spot. 10) Photography:  The photos should be the original contribution of the participants.  Any copied photos from the internet will be disqualified.  The photos should be taken on any ancient civil engineering structures and monuments.  No editing of photographs are allowed.  The photographs should be brought in soft and hard copies during the event.  Maximum of two members in a team. 11) Short film:  The short film should be your original work.  Participants should bring the short film during the event.  Any short films are welcomed.  Prizes will be given to one person representing the selected team. 12) Other events:  There will be lot more events and lot more fun.  The rules of other events will be provided at the spot.
