Spin a web is a complete Web Designing Challenge that would test the Web Languages skills of the participants. Languages include the latest HTML 5, CSS 3 and JavaScript . It would consists of three rounds as follows: • Round 1 (Online Quiz) Round 1 would be an online round in which participants will take an online Quiz of 20 MCQs based on the basic HTML 5 and CSS. The link for the portal is http://spinawebgtbit.tk/ . The participant can take the quiz any time before prelims at Gates’14 • Round 2 (Prelims - Hack the Web Portal) In the Round 2, the participants will get into Round 2 wherein the participants will be provided with a web portal by cleverly exploiting their skills for eg. finding the clue of a problem statement by looking into the source code or URL. Those who will clear it in minimum time will get into the Mains Round. Time: 60 minutes No. of teams taken to the third round: 15 • Round 3 (Mains – Pimp My Site) The selected teams will develop a website using HTML 5, CSS 3 , JavaScript, JQuery based on a theme that would be disclosed at the time of the event. All the Images and Resources would be provided. The time limit would be 2 hrs. Softwares provided : Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 and Notepad++. Note • Use of Internet or any other resource is prohibited. • Maximum of 2 participants per team is allowed. • Decision of the Judges would be fair and final based on the Judging Criteria. • No extra time would be given after the time limit. One winner and a runner up team would be selected. Cash Prizes: Winner - ₹2000 Runner Up - ₹1000
