About Event

conf.kde.in 2014, one of India’s largest International Open source conferences is a platform for Open source contributors and enthusiasts to meet up, share their knowledge, contribute, learn, play, and most importantly have fun. It is the perfect arena for collaboration and exchange of ideas, skills, thoughts among like minded people who are passionate about open source. conf.kde.in 2011 was the first KDE/Qt conference in India, a 5 day event was held in March 2011 at the R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore. It had around 300 participants and was a huge phenomenon in terms of the people that it introduced to open source and to KDE. conf.kde.in 2014 plans to extend this success further and to spread the vision among many more. KDE Meetup, organised in DA-IICT on 23rd-24th of February, 2013 was the largest KDE event in India after conf.kde.in 2011 and the first such event to be held in Gujarat. There was participation of around 400 students from Delhi, Durgapur, Nainital, Mumbai and distant parts of Gujarat. There was a newfound inspiration within the students, the desire to contribute, to be a part of one of the largest open source community in the world.

How to reach Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology DAIICT, Gandhinagar

From Ahmedabad Airport Ahmedabad airport has a good taxi service where cabs can be hired to take you to DAIICT. From Ahmedabad Railway Station Government buses between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, run on a regular basis.The stop at Gandhinagar where you need to disembark is Gh-0 or Ch-0, both of which are less than 1 Km from the DAIICT campus. From here, autos can be easily hired to the campus. Taxi is another option, Taxi Stand is located just in front of Railway Station. The taxi services consist of mostly Ambassador Cabs and taxis can be hired for a one-way trip to DAIICT for about Rs. 200. From Gandhinagar Bus Terminal You can take a government bus from any city in Gujarat to Gandhinagar, which would take you to Pathikashram Bus station. An auto-rickshaw would charge you about Rs. 50 to get you to DA-IICT from the bus station. More details here: http://kde.in/conf/venue
