Research & Development over the past few decades has lead to significant advances in the field of Digital Signal Processing. This rapid development is a result of the significant advances in the digital computer technology and integrated circuit fabrication. Advancements in integrated circuit technology have resulted in smaller, cheaper and faster digital computers capable of performing specialized digital signal processing operations and tasks. Digital signal processing functions can be implemented through programmable hardware and these DSP operations can also be modified through software. Digital Signal Processing plays a vital role in various fields of Communication, Robotics, Speech Processing, System identification etc,.
