The annual sports showcase of IIT Kanpur, Udghosh’22,, is all set to launch amidst a huge buzz in the college community. The atmosphere is brimming with excitement, and Udghosh’22 themed “THE PALADIN’S IMPERIUM” is ready to take forward the legacy to be the flagbearer of intercollegiate sports. It marked its presence by conducting a variety of pre-fest events, guest sessions and competitions for the student community and is now on the apex of a splendid celebration.
Among the pre-fest events, Udghosh invited SHREYA SHREE for an interactive session where the current IAS officer alumni guided aspiring civil servants and motivated campus community to up convert challenges into opportunity. Udghosh also invited Dronacharya award recipient, formal chief national coach, Mr VIMAL KUMAR on the occasion of teacher’s day. For a meet-greet session. Other prominent guests included PREETI ACHARYA, fitness & lifestyle influencer and nutrition coach to raise awareness on fitness as a way of life
Other prominent events included AAVEG aimed to promote women’s empowerment and girl child education through a 2.5 km marathon. The event was voiced by MANASI PRADHAN a distinguished Indian advocate in the field of women’s rights and activism.
Acknowledging the growing opportunities in the Esports, the next generation of gaming, Udghosh organised inter-college esports tournament which witnessed exceptional participation from players as well as the audience. They also organised Udghosh National Open School Quiz (UNOSQ) to encourage sports in school which witnessed 5k+ participation from all over India and an online Chess tournament which was largest chess tournament to be conducted by any educational institution.
Udghosh maintained its active presence on the social media handles, keeping up to date with the happenings in the world of stops, keeping the students well informed with its timely social media posts. The extensive coverage of the commonwealth games was well appreciated amongst students, and Udghosh's proud initiative “Raktarpan” in association with Blood Connect motivated campus community to contribute to social service
Udghosh is all set to hold a multitude of sporting events at the IIT Kanpur campus. The Main fest will comprise a series of sports events including athletics, basketball, cricket, badminton, hockey, football, lawn tennis, volleyball, squash, ultimate frisbee, table tennis, weightlifting, powerlifting and kabaddi, where teams from renowned educational institutes from across the country such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, BITS Hyderabad to name a few will compete against each other for the ultimate championship of the sports extravaganza. 2000 plus participants from across the country will visit the IIT Kanpur Campus for the sports festival.
UDAAN one of its leading social initiative is a sports extravaganza for specially abled students promoting its belief in equity and opportunities for all.
Udghosh will have an opening ceremony which will be graced by various government officials. It will organise various fun events like Zumba, Mr. Udghosh which is a body building competition for fitness enthusiasts. Other fun events like Freestyle Football and MTV hustle graced by popular names such as Shlovij , KhullarG and Prakhar Gupta.Udghosh will also be organising Comedy Night and Bollywood Night, in which a renowned comedian and a Bollywood artist will be performing for the entire campus community. It will also host an EDM night by a renowned DJ to blend heart pounding music with crazy dance moves.
As we come closer to the main event, the excitement is hard to contain and the vibe is surreal. The entire campus is bubbling with exhilaration for the extravaganza. This year, the sports fest will be organised from 14st-16th october 2022 with a promise of thrill and joy.
