The annual sports extravaganza of IIT Kanpur, Udghosh’21, presented by PERF, powered by TECNO Mobile, banking Partner SBI, educational partner IQRA IAS, Title sponsor of Grand Poker League-GUTSHOT continues its successful run, witnessing intense competition among the vying teams, and grand elation among the campus junta as a variety of events are being held. The campus is brimming with excitement, with a multitude of talks and shows being conducted for the students. Just as its name suggests, Udghsosh has grandly announced its arrival filling the hearts of people with exuberance. As the day rolled out with sporting teams proving their mettle on the ground, inspiring insights were given by the guest sessions by Udghosh. Lighthearted events like prom night, karaoke night, son of a pitch, blind date, comedy night, and band night were sources of great joy for the campus junta.
On day 2, we saw guest sessions from the legend Prakash Padukone, Paralympian Sharad Kumar and trekker Sangeeta Bahl. Students also attended a freestyle football show by Aarish Ansari and a Zumba session organised by Udghosh. The comedy night by the brilliant Parminder Singh had students rolling on the floor laughing endlessly. It was followed by the ‘prom night’ and ‘son of a pitch’ which was a source of great fun for the students.
While on the 2nd day, the games continued and took their course, on day 3, semifinals and finals took place. Talking of the various sports organised, the day witnessed Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Squash, Volleyball, Lawn Tennis, Weightlifting, Kabaddi, Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton taking place at respective venues and grounds. Live scoring and updates were made available to the entire campus junta and in an online manner to those not currently on campus. The winners were recognised and awarded in the closing ceremony held at the end of day 3. Udghosh was thankful to competing teams for participating and making the fest even more, better from their end.
On the day, the ‘Cracking CAT’ session was taken by experienced faculty of IMS to give better insights to students regarding admission to prestigious IIMs. Later in the day, we saw massive participation from the campus junta in the guest session with Arun Singh, better known by his stage name, ‘Jhumroo’, a famous influencer and journalist. A session with Swara - a well-known YouTuber, enthralled the students with her presence and energy. The interactive session with these famous personalities was an immense success.
The closing ceremony was held in the Open Air Theater, IIT Kanpur, with Shri Rohit Bhardwaj, the present Secretary of the Sports Authority of India, as the Cheif Guest. The winners of the various sports in Udghosh were recognised and were awarded.
The whole campus was thrilled by the performance of All India Permit, with every student dancing to the beats on the Pronite ground and having a great time as the fest was getting concluded. Later in the night, Blind Date was conducted by Udghosh for the campus junta.
As Udghosh ‘21 came to an end of its brilliant run, we commend the absolute hard work put in by the team to conduct the events, shows and sessions successfully and eagerly wait for its next edition.
