CLASH OF CADD
Description:
“Being versatile is a good quality to be possessed by an engineer”. Are you a techno- wizard? Do you want to prove yourself as a techno-civilian? Then substantiate your versatility by smudging your knacks of civil engineering with software. STABILIZE-2K17 has set to test your software knowledge in par with core knowledge. Let’s see who cracks first and best!
Rules:
ROUND 1:
Prelims will be pen and paper type with questions related to AUTOCAD
ROUND 2:
Qualified participants will be provided with a problem statement on the spot. The participants must come up with the solution within the stipulated time. The participants will be provided with pre-installed AUTOCAD systems.
GREAT WALL OF STABILIZE
DESCRIPTION:
“A Great Building will never stand if you neglect the small bricks” Whenever we think about the word ‘civil engineering’ the first thing that strikes our mind is the solid reddish brown object- “Brick”. STABILIZE- 2K17 provides you the real engineering stage to bring up your bread and butter combination which is none other than the “Brick and Mortar”. Yes, you are going to construct a real wall and we are going to enjoy your passion of construction. Let’s join hands together and see who makes “The Great Wall of STABILIZE” – A Marvel of Civil Engineering symposium.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Construct a wall junction (T-shaped or L-shaped) of specified height and thickness of one or two bricks.
Height, thickness of wall and type of junction will be announced on spot.
RULES:
A Squad of 2 members from same college can take part in this event.
FORMAT
Round-1 – Prelims(Pen and paper type):
Questions will be asked on Basic civil engineering and Building Technology.
Round-2 – Finals.
Only 5 eligible teams will be selected to final construction round.
Bricks and Ready mix cement mortar will be provided in required quantities based upon the problem statement.
One trowel, plumb bob and necessary tools will be provided to each team.
Time duration: 2 hours
NOTE: Problem Statement may not be the same for all teams.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
• Type of Bond adopted.
• Verticality of the wall.
• Thickness of mortar layer.
• Dimensional appropriateness.
• Overlapping of bricks.
INNOVATIVE EXPO
DESCRIPTION:
``The scientist merely explores
that which exists,
while the engineer creates
what has never existed before.''
STABILIZE-2K17 is set to collaborate ideas of a scientist and accomplishment of an engineer to innovate the world of civil engineering. Those inborn scientist cum engineer who have their innovative ideas and models to be exposed to the atmosphere are welcomed with immense pleasure to display your projects to the world of innovation. The podium is waiting for you!
RULES:
Maximum of 2 authors per team and can be from any discipline. The project or model you are going to display can be Based on multi-disciplinary concepts. But the product must be primarily useful in civil engineering areas. It can also be your final year project. The project can be in any form like PowerPoint Presentation, Working models, Prototypes, STADD PRO models, AutoCAD models. A detailed abstract about your project should be mailed To stabilize2k17@gmail.combefore with the subject as INNOVATIVE EXPO with full details of participants. Selected abstracts will be intimated through mail on Selected teams must present their project on spot.
Time duration: 15minutes ( can be extended)
NOTE:
If you have photographs of your project, it can also be attached in the abstract.
If your project is not having any application related to Civil engineering, it will not be considered for judging. The project should be a new one or a renovation of previous versions. If the project is a replica of already existing ones, the team will be disqualified.

MODEL MAKING
Description:
Are you good at explaining civil engineering concepts with the help of models? Here is the chance! Construct any civil engineering model of your choice and present it during stabilize2k17. Main objective of this competition is to encourage students to design and build a civil engineering model by applying their Knowledge and creativity.
You need: To submit an abstract about your model to stabilize2k17@gmail.com Interest in building models and fabrication skills.
Format:
Round 1:
Participant teams are required to send a detailed abstract of the model they are planning to build to stabilize2k17@gmail.com along with their Moments ID.
Deadline:
The abstract should consist of Brief description of the model. Materials needed for the model. Plan of the model (including dimensions) A confirmation mail will be send to shortlisted teams to proceed with building of the model.
Round 2:
In this round, participants have to present their model in front of the judge during STABILIZE 2K17.
Judging criteria:
• Design and fabrication
• Engineering explanation of the model
• Aesthetic appeal

• Each team should consist of maximum 2 members only

POSTER PRESENTATION
DESCRIPTION:
A Poster Presentation advertises your thought. It combines text and graphics to present your project in a way that is visually interesting and accessible. It allows you to display your work to a large group of graduating engineers and to talk to and to receive feedback from an interested viewer. The poster should be able to stand on its own as a clear, logical presentation of your work, without any explanation from you. Here’s a great opportunity for your imagination and artistic talent. Enter this platform STABILIZE-2K17 to prove your artistic expression!
RULES:
A team of maximum two authors from same college can take part in this event.
An abstract about the poster should be mailed to stabilize2k17@gmail.com in prescribed format.

Selected teams must bring the prepared poster in “A3 size” both hard and soft copy on the day of presentation.
Both the participants of a team should present the poster and should be able to answer questions if any.
Time duration: 5mins.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Aesthetic appeal.
Self-explanatory nature of the Poster.
Presentation made by the team.
Judges decision will be final and no arguments or appeal will be entertained.
TECHNO-QUIZ
Description:
Do you think you can crack any sort of technical questions put forth to you? Then it is the perfect place for you to prove your intellect and master mind. STABILIZE-2K17 is in search of such an intelligent who can defeat all odds and prove out his stand in concepts! Let’s see which team wins the battle of wits. Get ready for a cerebral stimulation!
Format:
Round 1:
Written type. Comprising of both objective and subjective questions on basic civil engineering and basics of all disciplines of civil engineering. The round is eliminative.
Round 2:
Only 8 eligible teams will be qualified to Final round -quiz round. Best team wins the prize.
Rules:
Each team must consist of exactly 3 members from same college and should be from civil engineering dept.
Calculators may be allowed only in the final round.
All tasks must be completed in specified time.
Judging criteria:
Accuracy and Proper answers
Proper representation of solutions
In case of tie the preliminary round scores will also be taken into account or host will decide based upon the situation.
