About Event

Photography Section IIT Roorkee invites photograph entries from all students (UG/PG/Ph.D.) to be displayed in its annual exhibition, Srishti - 2017.

The categories are –

Coloured:
1. Landscapes
2. Flora and Fauna
3. Food and Culture
4. Silhouettes
5. Lights and Reflections
6. Travel & Explore

Black & White:
1. Emotions of Life
2. Vintage
3. Architecture
4. Symmetry and Distortion

Other Themes:
1. Shuttered – Photos that depict a story, a moment captured in time
2. HDR – High Dynamic Range photographs are generated by merging together photographs taken at different exposures. Software may be used for processing.
3. Colour Accent – A single colour or a single part of the image is in colour and the rest in monochrome. Done to bring emphasis on the subject.
4. Abstract
5. Street
6. Sports

Rules:

1. Photographs MUST be your own. If any suspicion arises, the defaulters will be severely penalized. (The Proficiency Holders are sure to get a very poor grade in such a case!)

2. Please rename your photos to: ‘____’
(e.g.- Abstract_3_Ansuj Joshi_MT_3rd), so that photos are not lost. The photo number is only for the particular category for which you are submitting the photograph. Three entries can be submitted per theme and entries may be sent for any number of themes.

3. Every photograph MUST have a caption, which can be given in Hindi or English. Only those entries will be accepted which have a caption. The captions would be sent in a separate text file named as __. In this file, each caption would be given with the respective photo code.
(e.g.-
1. Abstract_1_Vishal Nagula_ME_4th :
2. Landscapes_3_Vishal Nagula_ME_4th : )

Rewards:

Best three photographs in each category will be given prizes and certificate of merit.

Please focus on the quality and not the quantity of photographers. Photographs will primarily be judged as per the thought that has gone into the photograph. For proficiency holders, credit will be given accordingly.

Last Date of Submission : 1st March 2017

How to submit – e-mail them to photog.iitr@gmail.com

NOTE: kindly send all the photos in one go, using drive or something similar and also please do not use Watermarks on the photographs.
