About Event

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is going to conduct Workshop on Fusion 360 & Design Now Competition (CAD Modeling Contest) [Sponsored by M/s. Autodesk, Bangalore] during 18th Futura on Day 2(24.01.2017).

Timing 10:00am-3:00pm at our CAD Lab [New Mechanical Block].

The interested students are invited to participate in this workshop cum competition to showcase your CAD Modeling skill on Fusion 360 software.

The submitted CAD model of each student is carry forward to National Level Design Competition which is conducted by M/s. Autodesk India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.

Those who are already known Fusion 360 software may submit the model on or before 19.01.2017.

Those WHO ARE NEW to Fusion 360 software can submit their model on 24.01.2017 is enough. [Note: If you required any support to work on this software, our design team is ready to help. So feel free to approach us for further clarifications]

ACCESSORY DESIGN

We have all heard 3D printing been referred to as a "disruptive" technology. It enables anyone to be an inventor or maker, allowing individuals to take full control over the design and manufacture process. Therefore, this year's theme has been influenced by the social impacts of urbanization which affects our lifestyle - in the homes we live in, the office we work, the cars we drive, the furniture we own, the gadgets we love and the sports we engage in.


The question to be answered is what role can design and innovation play to ensure that we are prepared and equipped for this social adaptation? Here we refer to aesthetics of form and shape, texture, finishing, graphical communication, colors and color options, material, innovation, emotional values, social context, targeted segment relevance, engineering, ease of use, surprise element, timelessness of design, design of the packaging or protective casing, overall complexity or simplicity.

Each piece is a unique design; therefore, representing a true struggle of the designer who created it.

Accessories are jewelry, fashion accessories, bags, shoes, fixtures, fittings etc.
