Huntsparty Interested in going on a hunt filled with mystery and adventures? Then Huntsparty which is conduted as a part of Uthbhav 2013 will provide you with the best opportunity to do so. It is a technical event in which one should have a basic idea on civil and other related branches. Participants as a team will be tested their problem solving skills, practical and technical knowledge, team work etc. For finding the treasure each team will have to face many obstacles and daunting tasks .To overcome this clues will be provided for the upcoming levels. The team which finds the treasure first will be adjudged the winners. 1. Maximum of five members in a team. 2. Members of a team can be from same or different colleges. 3. Maximum time allowed for each team is 3 hours. 4. The game consist of two levels preliminary and finals. Based on performance five team will be selected from the preliminary level. 5 The game will be within the college campus only. 6 Each team will have to abide by the rules. Each team can have a maximum of 3 members. There is no limit for the number of teams participating from one college. 2. Participants are not allowed to bring any materials or instruments to the event, all the necessary items would be provided at the venue. 3. Interested teams must register themselves either online or on the spot. Teams that are not registered would not be allowed to participate. 4. The results declared by the judges will be final. 5. Any malpractice or violation of aforementioned rules would lead to the disqualification of the team. Concepts based on development of Trivandrum are mostly preferred (not mandatory). 3. There can be multiple entries from the same college 4. The abstract of the topic should be submitted via email before. 5. After reviewing the abstract, the selected candidates should submit the softcopy of your paper before. Sthithi Prabandhana “Anticipate the difficult by managing the easy” -Lao Tzu Are you looking for a platform to throw your ideas to tackle the problems around? Then this uthbav might be the best place you would wish to be at. “Sthithi Prabandhana” is a holistic solution approach that analyzes correlates and coordinates the interaction between people, technologies, and their responses. It mainly deals with the aspects related to the approach towards situations, the intelligent methods of reasoning about situations and action planning. So get ready. Teams will have to register themselves under unique team name of their choice. 4. There can be multiple entries from the same college 5. The contestants have to face an aptitude test (team vise) based on which they will be selected for the final round. 6. 5 teams will be selected for the finals which will be an onstage performance with 4 judges to evaluate your ideas. 7. Decision of the judges will be final and binding. 8. No breaking rules. Planning & Estimation Do you have a ground- breaking set of ideas? Uthbav 2013 provides the right platform to explore and create ones own design through the event “ADAPTIVE PLANNING AND ESTIMATION”. It aims at evaluating ones ability to analyze and design systems, specify materials, perform cost estimates and to analyze and manage technical task with relevance to the Trivandrum city, which goes hand in hand with the environment. Participants may have to attend a preliminary test. 3. Multiple entries from the same college are permitted. 4. The event is opened to mechanical engineering and M.Tech students also. 5. The materials required will be provided. 6. Teams will be provided with the plot area and necessary specifications about the materials to be used. 7. The participants shall be required to produce a plan and a section showing maximum details. 8. Estimation can be done using the list of materials provided. 9. CAD Quest provides an opportunity for people to let loose their innovative power, channel their thoughts and to give life to a certain which would effectively suffice the demands of time. This event tests your knowledge, creativity, 3-D perception and enterprise in the designing and optimization. It serves as a bridge between an idea and realization. Through this event the experience of thinking, reacting, and working in an imaginative and idiosyncratic way – which is characterized by a high degree of innovation and originality, divergent thinking and risk taking is experienced. This events aims to harness the practical design and constructional abilities of the participants. Preliminary Round: Objective questions to be answered. (Time duration: 15 minutes) Final Round: Design a building according to the given details with the help of AutoCAD 2D. (Time Duration: 3 hours) 1. Drafting will be done using only AutoCAD 2011 2D. 2. Teams can consist of maximum 2 members only. 3. Time limit will be 3 hours. 4. Accuracy and finishing of the drawings will be used in a tie breaker situation to decide the winner. 5. No extra time will be provided under any circumstances, except in case of system failure.
