Eco-IoT Hackstorm 2026

The Eco - IoT Hackstorm is a premier working model exhibition and competition designed to bring together the brightest engineering minds to tackle real-world clinical challenges. This edition focuses strictly on IoT in Healthcare, challenging multidisciplinary teams to design automated solutions that enhance patient safety and optimize hospital environments.

Eco - IoT Hackstorm is a high-impact working model exhibition and competition hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SRMIST, Kattankulathur. Scheduled for October 14th, 2026, this hackathon challenges multidisciplinary student teams to engineer cutting-edge solutions for IoT in Healthcare

Dr. K. Suresh Kumar (Professor & Head)Dr. V. Praveena (Associate Professor)Dr. P. Chandrasekaran (Professor)Dr. Deborah Serenade Stephen (Assistant Professor

Hospitals face massive challenges in continuously monitoring patients to prevent critical risks like falls and pressure injuries. Teams must design and showcase an IoT-enabled smart hospital bed capable of tracking:Patient Status: Presence/absence, real-time movement, and bed-exit attempts.Health Metrics: Body temperature, heart rate, and SpO2 levels.Bed Environment: Pressure distribution, bed angle, and integrated nurse-call events.
