How KnowAFest Works: A Guide for Students and Organizers

A great event can introduce you to a new skill, a new community, or your next opportunity. KnowAFest helps students discover those experiences and gives organizers a place to share them with people who are interested.

What is KnowAFest?

KnowAFest is an event discovery platform for college festivals, technical and cultural events, workshops, hackathons, conferences, sports, and more. You can explore events in your city or find online experiences you can join from anywhere.

How students can find the right event

  1. Explore events. Search by name and narrow the results by category, location, format, and date. Quick date filters help you find events happening today, tomorrow, this week, or this weekend.
  2. Read the event page. Check the dates, venue, eligibility, registration fees, workshops, schedule, and other information provided by the organizer. Open the full poster for additional details.
  3. Register with the organizer. Follow the registration link and complete the organizer’s registration process. Opening a link or saving an event does not confirm your registration.
  4. Stay connected. Create an account to save events, follow organizations and tags, and receive relevant updates. Add your interests to help personalize event recommendations.

Some event contact details are available after signing in. Registration availability, fees, certificates, accommodation, and spot registration depend on the event. Check the latest details with the organizer before making plans.

More ways to discover opportunities

City pages make local discovery easier. Category, subcategory, and competition pages help you explore your interests. The online events page brings together experiences that do not require travel. Featured sections highlight selected events, while recommendations help you discover related opportunities.

If no upcoming events match a page, past events can help you explore what has happened before. Check the dates carefully: a past event listing is not an invitation to register for a new edition.

How KnowAFest helps organizers

Organizers can publish a clear event listing with an official website, registration link, descriptions, dates, and practical information. Categories, departments, and event topics help people understand who the event is for.

  1. Complete your profile. Add your contact and location information and connect your account to the relevant organization. A profile photo is optional.
  2. Create your listing. Use the event form to describe the event, add its links, and provide useful details such as workshops, guests, how to reach the venue, and accommodation.
  3. Add useful visuals. Upload a poster and an optional thumbnail. Choose the image crop for the event page while keeping the original poster available for visitors to open.
  4. Submit for review. Administrators review event information before publication and can request corrections. Organizers receive a publication email when their event is published.
  5. Keep information current. Update your published event while it is still active. Editing a published event does not automatically turn it into a draft. After the event ends, contact support if a correction is needed.

Get help when you need it

Organizers can message the administration team and create support tickets, including tickets about a specific event. Signed-in users can submit feedback. Visitors can also report a problem using the number verification challenge.

A few things to remember

  • KnowAFest helps you discover events. External registration, payment, and participation arrangements are managed by the event organizer.
  • A listing is not a guarantee of availability, admission, or event outcomes. Confirm important details on the official event website.
  • Published listings can change. Recheck dates, links, and venue information before attending.
